Zeppelin LZ2 after its destruction, 1906 (1933)
Zeppelin LZ2 after its destruction, 1906 (1933). The second Zeppelin to be built, LZ2 made its only flight on 17th January 1906. The airships engines failed and it was forced to land in the Allgau Mountains, where it was damaged beyond repair by a storm. Parts of the airship were salvaged and used in the construction of its successor, LZ3.
