Blucher takes possession of Napoleons medals and hat after the Battle of Waterloo, 18 June 1815, (1936). Blucher Empfangt Orden Und Hut Napoleons Nach Der Schlacht Bei Waterloo, 18 Juni 1815. Prussian field marshal Gebhard Leberecht von Blucher (1742-1819) at Genappe (in Belgium) after Prussian and British forces definitively defeated French emperor Napoleons army. He holds Napoleons hat, medals and sword, taken as war trophies. His leg is bandaged after he was trapped under his dead horse for several hours during a previous battle.
