A Legend of Camelot - Part 3, 1866. Artist: George du Maurier

A Legend of Camelot - Part 3, 1866. A woman emerges from a small brick building in the centre of the pond, and walks across a drawbridge. She holds a comb and mirror and has masses of curly hair. A woman on the right is walking down a flight of steps. A man has fallen over and is tumbling down the steps behind her. The garden appears to be in the middle of a wood, and is full of flowers. Three snails crawl along the edge of the pond. A little skull can be seen amidst the leaves in the bottom right corner. From Punch, or the London Charivari, March 17, 1866
