Reliquary, early 13th century, (1881). Etching of a silver-gilt and rock crystal reliquary made in France by Hugo d Oignies, a lay brother at Oignies Priory. The front is enriched with filigree-work set with coloured pastes. The copper gilt foot, dating from the late 13th century, was attached more recently. From " The South Kensington Museum", a book of engraved illustrations, with descriptions, of the works of art in the collection of the Victoria & Albert Museum in London (formerly known as the South Kensington Museum).
