The Vindictive at Zeebrugge, 1918 (1919). HMS Vindictive was a British Arrogant-class cruiser built at Chatham Dockyard. She was launched on 9 December 1897 and completed in 1899. In 1918 Vindictive was fitted out for the Zeebrugge Raid which took place on 23 April 1918. Most of the guns were replaced by howitzers, flame-throwers and mortars for the attack on the German-held Belgian port. Painting held at the Britannia Royal Naval College, Dartmouth.
