Part of Old London Bridge, c1600. Part of the bridge originally built between 1176 and 1209, showing the Middlesex (London) shore with (left) the waterworks built by Peter Morice in 1582 to supply water to the city. Pumps powered by current wheels raised the water. They were replaced by Scorrold in 1702, and finally demolished in 1822
