Joan Bennett (1910-1990). American actress, 20th century. Besides acting on the stage, Bennett appeared in more than 70 motion pictures from the era of silent movies through half a century of the sound era. She is possibly best-remembered for her film noir femme fatale roles in director Fritz Lang's movies such as The Woman in the Window (1944) and Scarlet Street (1945).

Janet Gaynor (1906-1984), American actress, 20th century. One of the most popular actresses of the silent film era, in 1928 Gaynor became the first winner of the Academy Award for Best Actress for her performances in the films Sunrise (1927), Seventh Heaven (1927) and Street Angel (1928). Her career continued with the advent of sound film, and she achieved a notable success in the original version of A Star Is Born (1937). She worked only sporadically after the late 1930s. Severely injured in a 1982 vehicle collision, her injuries contributed to her death two years later.

Jackie Coogan (1914-1984), American actor, 20th century. As a child actor, Coogan is best remembered for his role in Charlie Chaplin's classic The Kid (1921) and for the title role in Oliver Twist (1922), directed by Frank Lloyd. He was also the first star to get heavily merchandised, with peanut butter, stationery, whistles, dolls, records, and figurines just being a sample of the Coogan merchandise.
