The sinking of the Lusitania, May 1915, (1935). On May 7, the Lusitania was torpedoed by a German submarine off the south of Ireland; 1198 persons lost their lives. This pictures shows only a small portion of the anxious crowds that gathered outside the Cuard Offices in London. Although unarmed, she was carrying munitions.
