The Roses: Rosa Gallica Purpurea Velutina Parva, 1817-1824. The subtle tones in Redoutes paintings nearby were faithfully captured by engravers, but the prints do not imitate the spontaneity and deftness of the masters brushwork, which carefully described every detail. The drawings were interpreted using the most skillful and refined stipple engraving but relied on a combination of printed and hand colouring. A thin wash of watercolour that closely matches the printing ink was meticulously applied over every part of the image, with an occasional use of contrasting tints for the highlights

10x8 Print in an MDF Wooden Frame with 180 gsm Satin Finish Paper. Glazed using shatter proof thin plexi glass. Frame thickness is 1 inch and depth 0.75 inch. Fluted cardboard backing held with clips. Supplied ready to hang with sawtooth hanger and rubber bumpers. Spot clean with a damp cloth. Packaged foam wrapped in a card.
