Women with yo-yos, 1932, (1933). The world went wild in the summer of 1932 over a game known as " Cheerioh Yo-Yo"...a grooved disc of wood was spun by string like a top and numbers of " figures" or movements were invented and practised by everyone irrespective of age, sex, or station. At this time women wore the trousers, not only figuratively, by literally; and not only surreptitiously but openly. Beach pyjamas paved the way for wide-ended breeches. From " The Pageant of the Century". [Odhams Press Ltd, 1933]
