Framed Print of In the thick of the Traffic by the Mansion House, 1910. Creator: Unknown
In the thick of the Traffic by the Mansion House, 1910. A man wearing roller skates, with open top omnibuses behind, in the City of London....certain of the roller-skates are very suitable for city roads, and are used out of doors much more than people imagine. One skater informs me that he often roller-skates from the City to his suburban home when it is late enough for him to do so without meeting many persons. Given a good macadam road, the pastime is easy and pleasant, but he who ventures on a Metropolitan tour must be prepared for all roads, such as the cobble-stones at Piccadilly Circus, for instance. From The Strand Magazine, an illustrated monthly, Volume XL - July to December 1910. [George Newnes Ltd, London, 1910].
