Ralph Farnham, one of the Bunker Hill Heroes, 1860. Creator: Unknown
Ralph Farnham, one of the Bunker Hill Heroes, 1860. When the Prince of Wales was at Boston, United States, Ralph Farnham, the sole survivor of that valiant band which fought at the battle of Bunker-hill, was introduced to his Royal Highness by Mr. Everett. The interview is reported to have been most interesting. Mr. Farnham was accompanied by one of his daughters, who is upwards of seventy years of age. Ralph Farnham was born in the town of Lebanon, Maine, July 7, 1756, and is consequently in the 105th year of his age. He entered the American Army in May, 1775, and engaged in the battle of Bunker-hill on the 17th of June of the same year. He was also present, on guard, at the surrender of Burgoyne'.
