The Queen at Aix-Les-Bains: the Royal Family at the entrance of the Grotto, 1890. Prince Henry of Battenberg, Marquis of Lorne, Princess Marguerite of Connaught, The Queen, Princess Victoria Patricia of Connaught, Prince Arthur of Connaught, Princess Henry of Battenberg. Her Majesty [Queen Victoria]'s sojourn at Aix-les-Bains, accompanied by Prince and Princess Henry of Battenberg, terminated on Tuesday, April 22, when, at four in the afternoon, the Royal party left that place for Darmstadt, travelling by way of Geneva and Lausanne, and through Switzerland and Baden. Some Illustrations of Aix-les-Bains and its neighbourhood, with the villa which was occupied by the Queen, have been published in our Journal. At the time when the children of the Duke of Connaught were there with their Royal grandmother and aunt, a photograph of the whole family party was taken, by M. Numa Blanc fils (of Aix-les-Bains, Cannes, and Monte Carlo), which we are permitted to reproduce. It was taken at the entrance to the Grotto, in the grounds of the Grand Cercle des Bains, adjacent to the Villa Victoria and to the Grand Hotel Bernascon'. From "Illustrated London News", 1890. Wood effect frame, card mounted, 10x8 fade resistant photo print. Overall outside dimensions 14x12 inches (36x31cm). Environmentally and ozone friendly, 40mm wide x 15mm Polycore® moulding has the look of real wood, is durable and light and easy to hang. Biodegradable and made with non-chlorinated gases (no toxic fumes) it is efficient; producing 100 tons of polystyrene can save 300 tons of trees! Prints are glazed with lightweight, shatterproof, optical clarity acrylic (providing the same general protection from the environment as glass). The back is stapled hardboard with a sawtooth hanger attached. Note: measurements provided are estimated outer dimensions, which include both the image and the frame. While we aim to keep sizing consistent, exact dimensions may vary slightly due to differences in print size or production requirements, which may result in a variation in the overall size (up to approximately 2.5cm (1"))
