The Prince of Wales distributing prizes to the boys of the Derby Grammar-School, 1872. In the Drill Hall...their Royal Highnesses distributed prizes to the boys of the Grammar School and to the pupils of the School of Art...the Head Master, the Rev. W. Clark, in a short and effective speech, proposed a vote of thanks to their Royal Highnesses. The Prince, in his reply, said: I have had great pleasure in presiding to-day and distributing the prizes to the successful competitors of the Derby School. This school, as you know, is one of the oldest in the kingdom - though, I am afraid, one of the poorest endowed. Still, it has always borne the highest reputation, which I feel convinced it will continue to maintain. To the young men to whom I have had the pleasure of distributing prizes allow me to offer my most hearty congratulations, and I trust they may continue to go on as they are doing now. I they do so they will be successful in whatever profession they enter. I will not detain you longer, but thank you once more for the kind reception you have given us this day, and also tender to the Mayor our cordial thanks for the hearty reception we have received in our progress through Derby'. Wood effect frame, card mounted, 10x8 fade resistant photo print. Overall outside dimensions 14x12 inches (36x31cm). Environmentally and ozone friendly, 40mm wide x 15mm Polycore® moulding has the look of real wood, is durable and light and easy to hang. Biodegradable and made with non-chlorinated gases (no toxic fumes) it is efficient; producing 100 tons of polystyrene can save 300 tons of trees! Prints are glazed with lightweight, shatterproof, optical clarity acrylic (providing the same general protection from the environment as glass). The back is stapled hardboard with a sawtooth hanger attached. Note: measurements provided are estimated outer dimensions, which include both the image and the frame. While we aim to keep sizing consistent, exact dimensions may vary slightly due to differences in print size or production requirements, which may result in a variation in the overall size (up to approximately 2.5cm (1"))
