Queen Alexandra was the wife of King Edward VII and the longest-serving consort of any British monarch. She was born in Copenhagen, Denmark, in 1844, the eldest daughter of King Christian IX and Louise of Hesse-Kassel.
Alexandra was a popular figure in Britain and was known for her charitable works. She was a patron of the Red Cross, the Girls' Friendly Society, and the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children. She was also a keen supporter of the arts, and her patronage of the Royal Academy of Music helped to make it one of the most prestigious music schools in the world.
Alexandra was a strong advocate for women's rights, and she was a vocal supporter of the suffragette movement. She was also a passionate advocate for the welfare of animals, and she was a patron of the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
Alexandra was a devoted wife and mother, and she was a great source of comfort and support to her husband, King Edward VII. She was also a devoted grandmother to the future King George V and Queen Mary.
Alexandra died in 1925, and her funeral was attended by many members of the royal family and dignitaries from around the world. She was buried in St. George's Chapel at Windsor Castle, and her tomb is inscribed with the words, "A beloved wife and mother."
Queen Alexandra was a beloved figure in Britain, and her legacy lives on in the many charities and organizations she supported. Her commitment to the welfare of others, her devotion to her family, and her passion for the arts will continue to be remembered for generations to come.
