Porcelain at the International Exhibition, by Minton and Co. 1871. We present a few of the most elegant and ingenious products of this beautiful art from the celebrated manufactory of Messrs. Minton and Co. at Stoke-upon-Trent. The official reports, drawn up for the Commissioners of the Exhibition...bear ample testimony to the merits of these wares, especially the porcelain and Parian, both of the highest quality of excellence. These manufactures have attained to a perfection of colours which deserves especial mention; and it is not less worthy of notice that, while really vivid and splendid, their colours possess, in several examples, that spirit of harmony which is so conspicuous in the ancient productions of the East...Some of...[the small vases] are most satisfactory, and show an appreciation of true colour and a power of combining its effects hitherto rare or almost unknown to European manufacturers'...the three large vases have much beauty of form. The one in the centre, with a bevy of graceful little cupids, hand in hand, forming a circle round the body of the vase...is particularly noticed. The figures are skilfully painted...The artist is M. Wood effect frame, card mounted, 10x8 fade resistant photo print. Overall outside dimensions 14x12 inches (36x31cm). Environmentally and ozone friendly, 40mm wide x 15mm Polycore® moulding has the look of real wood, is durable and light and easy to hang. Biodegradable and made with non-chlorinated gases (no toxic fumes) it is efficient; producing 100 tons of polystyrene can save 300 tons of trees! Prints are glazed with lightweight, shatterproof, optical clarity acrylic (providing the same general protection from the environment as glass). The back is stapled hardboard with a sawtooth hanger attached. Note: measurements provided are estimated outer dimensions, which include both the image and the frame. While we aim to keep sizing consistent, exact dimensions may vary slightly due to differences in print size or production requirements, which may result in a variation in the overall size (up to approximately 2.5cm (1"))
