Letter written in Latin from Basle by Erasmus to Dr Nicholas Everaerts, President of Holland, on the marriage of Martin Luther, his own futile efforts for peace, his Apologia against the Carthusian Petrus Sutor (Basle, 1525), the death of his friend Martin Van Dorp (31st May, 1525), the excesses of the peasant insurrection in Germany and a reccomendation of Francis Delft, the bearer.
