German aviator Friedrich Karl von Koenig-Warthausen, 1932. Koenig-Warthausen (1906-1986) made the first solo flight around the world, August 1928-November 1929, in a Klemm L.20 with a 20 horse power air-cooled, two-cylinder Daimler-Benz F-7502 boxer engine. He won the Hindenburg Cup, the highest German honour for aeronautical achievement. Eugene and Moritz Garba ty, who were Jewish, were driven out of business by the Nazis in the late 1930s, and forced to sell their factory which lay empty for over 70 years.
