Going To Service By The "Dark Entry": Colonial and Indian Visitors at Canterbury, 1886. A large party of Colonists and Indians connected with the Colinderies visited Canterbury [in Kent] on July 30th'. Colinderies was an acronym for the Colonial and Indian Exhibition, organised under the patronage of the Prince of Wales, at South Kensington in 1886. The Dark Entry is passage which runs beneath the building known as the Prior's Lodging, joining the Green Court and the cathedral buildings. It is said to be haunted. Berkeley Castle, the seat of the Rt. Hon. Lord Fitzhardinge, c1913. Berkeley Castle (Berkley Castle) in Berkeley, Gloucestershire. The castle's origins date back to the 11th century. Except for a period of royal ownership by the Tudors, the castle has remained within the Berkeley family since they reconstructed it in the 12th century.
