In 1956 Althea Gibson (1927-2003) became the first African-American to win a Grand Slam title (the French Championships). The following year she won both Wimbledon and the US Nationals. The racquet is made of wood and has a brown leather wrapped handle. Gold and blue lettering near the head of the racket reads " BLUE MOON." A blue logo of a moon appears below. Gold type along handle reads " Laminated." A white " H" appears on the bottom of rackets handle

16x12 Print in an MDF Wooden Frame with 180 gsm Satin Finish Paper. Glazed using shatter proof thin plexiglass. Frame thickness is 1 inch and depth 0.75 inch. Fluted cardboard backing held with clips. Supplied ready to hang with sawtooth hanger and rubber bumpers. Spot clean with a damp cloth. Packaged foam wrapped in a card.
