Tamara Karsavina, Russian ballerina, in Nikolai Tcherepnins ballet Le Pavillon d Armide, 1913. Karsavina (1885-1978) starred with the Imperial Russian Ballet. She left Russia after the Revolution and joined Serge Diaghilevs Ballets Russes in Paris. Karsavina later settled in England where she taught ballet and was involved in the establishment of the Royal Ballet and the Royal Academy of Dance. From a private collection
