Ben Foord, South African boxer, 1938. A heavyweight, Foord (1913-1942) fought 59 times, with 40 wins, 15 losses and 4 draws. He won the South African title in 1934, adding the British and British Empire belts in 1936 when he won by a 3rd round technical knockout against Jack Petersen of Wales. He lost these titles to another Welshman, Tommy Farr, the following year, and Tommy Bensch took his South African belt in Foords penultimate fight, in 1941. A Churchmans Cigarettes picture card
