Charles Seymour, 6th Duke of Somerset, 1703 (1906). From the original painting by Sir Godfrey Kneller. Charles Seymour befriended Princess Anne in 1692, and became a favourite of the Queen when she came to the throne in 1702, and was given the post of Master of the Horse.
