Vladimirka, 1892, (1965). The Vladimir Highway (or Vladimirka) led east from Moscow to Vladimir and Nizhny Novgorod. Prisoners in shackles were marched along it from Moscow to the labour camps. Painting, also known as The Vladimirka Road, in the State Tretyakov Gallery, Moscow. From " Russian Painting of the 18th and 19th Centuries" by Vladimir Fiala. [Artia, Czechoslovakia, 1965]
