Executed Students. Several medical students were accused on 23 November 1871 having desecrated the tomb of the Spanish journalist Castanon, 45 were arrested. The volunteers of the 5th battalion firing squad, formed a council of war that sentenced to death 8 of them, who were executed from the back and knelt down in November 27.
