From " Princess Marys Gift Book", a collection of childrens stories by the leading authors of the day, with illustrations from well-known artists. Profits from the book, published on behalf of Princess Mary, the Princess Royal, went to The Queens Work for Women Fund, intended to initiate and subsidise projects for employing women during World War One.
