St. James's Church, Camberwell, [south London], 1871. To meet the wants of the inhabitants of this new district, a large find handsome church, dedicated to St. James, has been erected in a prominent situation in the Knatchbull-road. The style of the building is Gothic, of the geometric decorated type...The tower, with a spire 140 ft. high, is detached from the main building, and is placed against the wall of the north aisle. Its lower part is converted into an entrance-porch. There are four other entrances to the church, the western one being an engaged doorway. deeply and handsomely moulded, with a carved stone tympanum and high gable. The exterior of the building is faced with Kentish rag and Bath stone...The church is constructed to accommodate 780 persons on the floor...The whole cost, with the fittings and furniture, amounting to between £7000 and £8000, has been defrayed by Mr. James L. Minet, who also gave the site, about three quarters of an acre...The church has been erected, by Messrs. Dove Brothers, of Islington, from the designs and under the superintendence of Mr. George Low, architect. The view shown in our Engraving is taken from the south-west'. Wood effect frame, card mounted, 10x8 fade resistant photo print. Overall outside dimensions 14x12 inches (36x31cm). Environmentally and ozone friendly, 40mm wide x 15mm Polycore® moulding has the look of real wood, is durable and light and easy to hang. Biodegradable and made with non-chlorinated gases (no toxic fumes) it is efficient; producing 100 tons of polystyrene can save 300 tons of trees! Prints are glazed with lightweight, shatterproof, optical clarity acrylic (providing the same general protection from the environment as glass). The back is stapled hardboard with a sawtooth hanger attached. Note: measurements provided are estimated outer dimensions, which include both the image and the frame. While we aim to keep sizing consistent, exact dimensions may vary slightly due to differences in print size or production requirements, which may result in a variation in the overall size (up to approximately 2.5cm (1"))
