Sir Ralph Abercrombie (1734-1801) in the Battle of Alexandria, 1816. Abercrombie was a British lieutenant-general noted for his services during the Napoleonic Wars. It was during the Battle of Alexndria that he received the wound that would prove to be fatal, seven days after the successful conclusion of the battle.
