Rangel, of an...eminent surgeon, upon whom the Queen was lately pleased, to confer a baronetcy, in recognition of his services to surgery and to pathological science...He was...elected to the lectureship of physiology at St. Bartholomew's, and in 1847 was appointed assistant surgeon to that hospital. Soon after this he was chosen Professor of Anatomy and Surgery to the Royal College of Surgeons, in which capacity he delivered a course of lectures on surgical pathology, which largely added to his reputation...In 1857 he delivered a lecture before the Royal Society On the Cause of the Rhythmic Motion of the Heart. In the following year he obtained the appointment of surgeon to her Majesty...[He] is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons, a Fellow of the Royal Society, consulting surgeon to St. Bartholomew's Hospital, and a member of the Senate of the University of London. He is the author of The Pathological Catalogue of the Museum of the Royal College of Surgeons, a Report on the Results of the Use of the Microscope, (1842); Records of Harvey, and Motives to Industry in the Study of Medicine, (1846); and Lectures on Surgical Pathology, (1853)'. Wood effect frame, card mounted, 10x8 fade resistant photo print. Overall outside dimensions 14x12 inches (36x31cm). Environmentally and ozone friendly, 40mm wide x 15mm Polycore® moulding has the look of real wood, is durable and light and easy to hang. Biodegradable and made with non-chlorinated gases (no toxic fumes) it is efficient; producing 100 tons of polystyrene can save 300 tons of trees! Prints are glazed with lightweight, shatterproof, optical clarity acrylic (providing the same general protection from the environment as glass). The back is stapled hardboard with a sawtooth hanger attached. Note: measurements provided are estimated outer dimensions, which include both the image and the frame. While we aim to keep sizing consistent, exact dimensions may vary slightly due to differences in print size or production requirements, which may result in a variation in the overall size (up to approximately 2.5cm (1"))
