The Right Rev. Dr. Fulford, Lord Bishop of Montreal, 1850. The Right Rev. Dr. Fulford, first Bishop of Montreal, in Canada, the second son of the late Colonel Fulford, of Great Fulford, near Exeter, Devon, was born in 1803, and educated at Tiverton Grammar-School, from which he entered Exeter College, Oxford, where he took his degree of B.A. at the Easter Term of 1824, and of which, in the following year, he was elected a Fellow. In 1832, he was presented, by the Duke of Rutland, to the living of Trowbridge, in the diocese of Salisbury; in 1842, removed to Croydon, in Cambridgeshire; in 1845, was nominated by Earl Howe, minister of Curzon Chapel, Mayfair, where he continued until his recent appointment to the newly-created see of Montreal'.
