Framed Print of Queen Victoria in her Study, 1925. Creator: Howard Davie
Queen Victoria in her Study, 1925. Illustration of a wax figure at Madame Tussauds, a wax museum founded in London in 1835 by the French sculptor Marie Tussaud....a beautiful tableau, one of the most delightful in the Exhibition. You see her Majesty sitting at a table, writing by the light of a lamp. This gracious lady, Queen of Great Britain and Ireland, came to the throne in 1837, and died in 1901, having reigned longer that any other British Sovereign. Her reign must be considered the most glorious in British history'. From Madame Tussaud's: The Palace of Enchantment described by Capt. Edric Vredenburg, illustrated by Howard Davie, [Raphael Tuck and Sons Ltd, London, 1925]. Heritage Images features heritage image collections. © The Print Collector/Heritage Images
