The " Nottingham Captain" and agitators at the White Horse Inn, Pentrich, Derbyshire, 1817 (c1890). " The Nottingham Captain" was the name given to Jeremiah Brandreth (1785-1817), an unemployed stocking maker who plotted to overthrow the British govermnent and was consequently executed for treason.
