The foundation-stone of these buildings was laid by Miss Adiison, on Trinity Monday, 1853...Sir John Hesketh Lethbridge, Bart. the Rev. J. B. Austis, the Rev. Thomas Mankes, and the Rev. Dr. Cottle, then ably advanced the cause of the religious education of the poor, and a liberal collection was made in aid of the building fund. The cost of the schools is £1200. The style of architecture is that of the Middle Related or Decorated period...The architect is Mr. Talbot Bury, of London; the builder is Mr. P.
