Mrs. Salmons Waxwork, Fleet Street - Palace of Henry VIII. and Cardinal Wolsey, (1897)
Mrs. Salmons Waxwork, Fleet Street - Palace of Henry VIII. and Cardinal Wolsey, (1897). Waxworks exhibition in London, in a building dating from the 17th century. It was incorrectly claimed to be formerly the palace of Henry VIII and Cardinal Wolsey. The front part of the house was occupied by Mrs Salmons Waxworks from 1795 to 1816, with a tavern in the rear. The exhibitions were said to include a scene of King Charles I on the scaffold. From Old and New London, Volume I, by Walter Thornbury.
