Engraving from a photograph by...John and Charles Watkins, of Parliament-street. Mr. Portman is the eldest son of the first Lord Portman by Lady Emma, third daughter of the second Earl of Harewood, and was born in London in July, 1820. He was educated at Eton, and Merton College, Oxford; married, in 1855, Mary Selina Charlotte Wentworth Fitzwilliam, daughter of the late Viscount Milton.
