Miguel Tacon, (1775-1855), 1920s

General Miguel Tacon, born in Cartagena (Spain) in 1775 was captain of Cuba from 1834 to 1838. He was one of the most despotic rulers; expelled in 1834 the great patriot Jose Antonio Saco, abolished the magazine Revista bimestre de Cuba and deported hundreds of sons of the country because of his liberal ideas.
