Marquis of Someruelos. Born in Madrid in 1754 and governor of Cuba from 1799 until 1812. During his time in government he discovered the Aponte conspiracy and order the death by hanging of another eight people. Also in 1810 he ordered the death by hanging of the Mexican Manuel Rodriguez Aleman, who was an envoy of Jose Bonaparte.
