The late Lord Hatherley, 1881. William Page Wood was an...able and accomplished lawyer...[He] became Q.C. in 1845; and in August, 1847, was elected M.P. for the city of Oxford...In Parliament, to quote the testimony of Lord Selborne, he was ever foremost in the advocacy of the principles of religious liberty'...in 1851, ...[he] took office as Solicitor-General, when he was of course knighted...He was appointed a Vice-Chancellor, and this office he continued to hold until March, 1868, when he was transferred as one of the Lords Justices to the Court of Appeal in Chancery, and was at the same time sworn in as of her Majesty's Privy Council...[He] was left a widower in 1878, and, having had no children, his title now becomes extinct. Lord Hatherley was author of a work entitled The Continuity of Scripture as Declared by the Testimony of Our Lord and of the Evangelists and the Apostles, which has passed through three or four editions'. Wood effect frame, card mounted, 10x8 fade resistant photo print. Overall outside dimensions 14x12 inches (36x31cm). Environmentally and ozone friendly, 40mm wide x 15mm Polycore® moulding has the look of real wood, is durable and light and easy to hang. Biodegradable and made with non-chlorinated gases (no toxic fumes) it is efficient; producing 100 tons of polystyrene can save 300 tons of trees! Prints are glazed with lightweight, shatterproof, optical clarity acrylic (providing the same general protection from the environment as glass). The back is stapled hardboard with a sawtooth hanger attached. Note: measurements provided are estimated outer dimensions, which include both the image and the frame. While we aim to keep sizing consistent, exact dimensions may vary slightly due to differences in print size or production requirements, which may result in a variation in the overall size (up to approximately 2.5cm (1"))
