The International Exhibition: the Albert Commemoration Tazza, designed for the London Art-Union by J. Leighton, F.S.A. 1862. This work of art...is the result of a commission...to perpetuate in the most durable of materials the deeds of our great and good Prince...In the centre is a medallion of Prince Albert, around which, and dividing the compartments, are guardian angels, geniuses bearing tablets on which are views of the three great Albert edifices - the Palace of the Legislature at Westminster, the island palace home of Osborne, and the Palace of Industry of all Nations, 1851; types of the United Kingdom, emblems of Commerce, Law, and Agriculture, complete the spaces; while within will be found the deeds of Albert the Good, as a patron of literature, science, and art - Albert, chancellor of an university, distributing rewards to the Church, Law, and Physic - Albert, promoter of the united arts, supported by Poetry, encouraging the arts of painting and design - Albert, president of scientific societies, encouraging Philosophy...'. Wood effect frame, card mounted, 10x8 fade resistant photo print. Overall outside dimensions 14x12 inches (36x31cm). Environmentally and ozone friendly, 40mm wide x 15mm Polycore® moulding has the look of real wood, is durable and light and easy to hang. Biodegradable and made with non-chlorinated gases (no toxic fumes) it is efficient; producing 100 tons of polystyrene can save 300 tons of trees! Prints are glazed with lightweight, shatterproof, optical clarity acrylic (providing the same general protection from the environment as glass). The back is stapled hardboard with a sawtooth hanger attached. Note: measurements provided are estimated outer dimensions, which include both the image and the frame. While we aim to keep sizing consistent, exact dimensions may vary slightly due to differences in print size or production requirements, which may result in a variation in the overall size (up to approximately 2.5cm (1"))
