The Giant MacAskill Museum, Dunvegan, Isle of Skye, Highland, Scotland

The Giant MacAskill Museum, Dunvegan, Isle of Skye, Highland, Scotland. Born on the Hebridean island of Berneray, Angus MacAskill (1825-1863) grew to a height of 7 feet 9 inches and had a chest measurement of 80 inches. With his parents he emigrated to Cape Breton, Nova Scotia in the early 1830s. MacAskills size and ability to perform remarkable displays of physical strength led him to get a job as a performer with PT Barnums Circus. On a tour of Europe he was invited to demonstrate his strength to Queen Victoria at Windsor Castle. This museum devoted to MacAskill and his life opened in 1989
