A faience shabti from the tomb of Psusennes I. Shabti worked in place of the deceased in the land of the dead. In the 3rd Intermediate Period it was the custom to have 365 shabti, one for each day of the year, plus an overseer shabti for each ten workers. An almost complete set was found in Psusennes tomb. Country of Origin: Egypt. Culture: Pharaonic, 3rd Intermediate period. Date/Period: 21st Dynasty, 1039 - 991 BC. Place of Origin: Tanis. Material Size: Faience h = 13.5 cm.
