Sarcophagus and burial chamber of Rameses VI, Valley of the Kings, Egypt, c1890. Rameses VI was the fifth ruler of the Twentieth dynasty of Egypt. He reigned from 1145 to 1137 BC. His tomb is located near to that of Tutankhamun. It was ransacked and looted by grave robbers, probably not long after the pharaoh's burial. The looting served to preserve Tutankhamun's tomb from a similar fate as debris from Rameses tomb covered the entrance to Tutankhamun's. Lantern slide

The Tomb of Amenhotep II, Valley of the Kings, Egypt. Amenhotep (Amenophis) II was the seventh Pharaoh of the 18th Dynasty of Ancient Egypt. He ruled from 1427 until 1400 BC. His mummy was discovered still inside its original sarcophagus in tomb KV 35 in the Valley of the Kings in 1898 when it was excavated by the French archaeologist Victor Loret. The tomb also contained a cache of the mummies of five other pharaohs, moved there during the 21st Dynasty to protect them from the ravages of grave robbers
