Pocahontas. Portrait of the Native American chief's daughter who saved John Smith, leader of the Virginia colonists, from being executed by her father, Powhatan, in 1607. Afterwards, she married one of the English colonists, John Rolfe. She then travelled to England to visit the Court of King James I, but died soon afterwards of smallpox.
