Henry III, (1207-1272), 1830. Henry III (1207-1272) King of England, Lord of Ireland, and Duke of Aquitaine from 1216 until his death. Known for his piety, he came to the throne aged nine during the First Barons War, in 1263 Simon de Montfort seized power, resulting in the Second Barons War and the Battle of Lewes in 1264, where Henry was defeated and taken prisoner.. The Apparition of the Virgin Mary from the series The Legend of
"The Apparition of the Virgin Mary" from the series "The Legend of our Lady of the Sablon". Virgin Mary appears to the pious Beatrice of Antwerp and tells her to take the statue of the Madonna to the church of Notre-Dame du Sablon at Brussels.
