Yoshiyuki Tsuruta and Erich Rademacher, 1928. Japanese swimmer Yoshiyuki Tsuruta (1903-1986) shakes hands with his German rival Erich Rademacher (1901-1979). Tsuruta won gold medal in the men's 200m breaststroke, and Rademacher won silver in the same event at the 1928 Summer Olympics, held in Amsterdam. Boy Charlton of Australia, and Arne Borg of Sweden, 1928. Charlton (1907-1975) set five world records, and won three silver and one bronze medal. Borg (1901-1987) broke 32 world records and won five Olympic medals. Borg won gold in the 1500m freestyle at the 1928 Summer Olympics, held in Amsterdam.
