The Adoration of the Trinity (The Landauer Altarpiece), 1511. This picture shows the Holy Trinity in glory, worshipped by all the saints. In the upper zone the Trinity of God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit are flanked by Angels carrying the instruments of Christ's passion. Below them on the left are the female saints led by the Virgin Mary. On the right are the male saints led by John the Baptist, and Old Testament figures including Moses holding the Tablets of the Law and King David playing the harp. In the bottom zone are Popes and Cardinals, Kings, Princes and commoners floating on clouds. Durer has painted a self portrait pointing to a tablet with date and signature (bottom right). Algiers and Louis Philippe, French Revolution of 1830. On 26th July, 1830, the Polignac ministry, strongly reactionary in its tendencies, published ordinances suppressing the liberty of the press and creating a new system of elections. The result was an insurrection during the three days 27th-29th July by which Charles X was overthrown and Louis Philippe of Orleans proclaimed king on 9th August, 1830. During the last days of Charles X's reign a French expedition had captured the city of Algiers and laid the foundations of the French colony there

The six volunteers are led by Eustache de St Pierre, one of the town's elders, who was the first to volunteer. Their lives were spared by the intervention of Edward's queen, Philippa of Hainault
