Augusta National Golf Club House, 1943. Augusta National Golf Club was founded by Bobby Jones (1902-1971) and Clifford Roberts (1894-1977) on the site of the former Fruitland (later Fruitlands) Nursery. The course was designed by Jones and Alister MacKenzie (1870-1934) and opened in January 1933. Since 1934, it has played host to the annual Masters Tournament. 'Old and Young Tom Morris', c1870. Scottish golfer 'Old 'Tom Morris (1821-1908) was one of the outstanding figures of early competitive golf. He won the Open Championship four times, in 1861, 1862, 1864 and 1867. On his 64th birthday he remained a good enough golfer to complete a round at St Andrews in 81 strokes. His son 'Young' Tom Morris (1851-1875) was also a professional golfer. Collotype reproduction of an original photograph with poetic caption.
