The Ant Lion, 1914. The predatory Myrmeleontidae, of which antlions are a subgroup, dig pits to prey on ants or other insects. From "Princess Mary's Gift Book", a collection of children's stories by the leading authors of the day, with illustrations from well-known artists. Profits from the book, published on behalf of Princess Mary, the Princess Royal, went to The Queen's Work for Women Fund, intended to initiate and subsidise projects for employing women during World War One. Lochiel's Charge at Killycrankie, 27 July 1689, (c1880). The Battle of Killiecrankie was fought between Highland Scottish clans supporting King James II and VII and troops supporting King William of Orange on 27 July 1689, during the first Jacobite uprising. Sir Ewen Cameron of Lochiel, Chief of Clan Cameron formed a confederation of Highland clans loyal to James and was one of the principal commanders in the Jacobite rising where he fought under the celebrated Viscount Dundee.
