The Lord Mayor's Jewel, 1844. Ceremonial jewellery of the Lord Mayor of the City of London. The jewel contains, in the centre, the City arms, cut "in cameo", of a delicate blue, on an olive ground. Surrounding this, a garter, of bright blue, edged with white and gold, bearing the City motto, "Domine Dirige Nos" [Lord, guide us], in gold letters. The whole is encircled with a costly border of gold Ss, alternating with rosettes of diamonds, set in silver'. From "Illustrated London News", 1844, Vol V

Parure of Diamonds and Pearls - The Gift of HRH The Prince of Wales, 1863. Albert Edward, Prince of Wales, the future King Edward VII, purchased a parure for, Princess Alexandra of Denmark, as a wedding gift. The set from Garrard included a large diamond tiara, a diamond and pearl necklace, a set of earrings, and brooch. The tiara, popularly known as the Rundell Tiara, no longer exists.
