Engraving of the French "Corps de Dromadaires" from the book "A Non-Military Journal or Observations Made in Egypt" by Major General Sir Charles William Doyle (1770 - 1842). The dromedary regiment was created by Napoleon in 1799 who staffed it with elite soldiers and based it in Cairo. Major General Doyle encountered the Corps during his campaign in Egypt in 1801.
